Hunger Relief and Charity

Heirloom Harvest, with the help of volunteers, donates some of the produce it grows to charity. If you feel that there is too much food to take in your share, you can leave your food on the table, knowing that it will be donated to a local food bank in Worcester, along with gleanings and other harvested food that is intended for charity.

In order to accomplish our charity goals, Heirloom Harvest offers several charity distribution coordinator workshare positions.

In 2014, Heirloom Harvest was awarded a “Harvester Award” by the Worcester County Food Bank for donating 46,000 lbs of produce over the first ten years of the farm’s existence, approximately two-thirds of the produce we donated to charity during that time (we also donate to other other worthy charities besides the food bank).
